Storytime

Part of my job at the library is to take turns with the other ladies and doing "storytime" once a month. We have about 20 3 and 4 year olds that come every Thursday morning and we do a storytime with them. Today was my turn. I decided to read "Diary of a Worm." Thanks to Amazon for the picture of the book.

I read the book and then told the kids I had a surprise for them. I gave each of them a real worm to look at and touch. Some of them didn't like the worms at first, but quickly warmed up to them.

And then there were some that were excited about the worms from the beginning.

It is amazing to watch little kids at this age. They are getting to where their little minds are constantly thinking about something and they are very curious about everything around them. I had a blast today!

Cute idea! Those are some huge worms!

If you ever get a chance, you ought to check out the "Laugh and Learn" storytime at the Amarillo NW branch or Cindy's storytime at the East branch. (Cindy designed the NW L&L version, but then changed branches.)

ha ha...that's fun!

How many of them tried to EAT the worm though!?! ;) Maybe you should read "How To Eat Fried Worms" next time! ;)
